Poor call quality is usually caused by issues with your internet connection, router, or phone equipment. In many cases, restarting your router or checking your phone connection can resolve the problem.
Common causes of poor call quality
Digital Voice uses your broadband connection to make calls. If there are issues with your connection or equipment, this can affect call quality.
Common causes include:
Steps you can try
1. Check your internet connection
Make sure your broadband connection is working normally and that your internet speeds are stable. If your internet connection is slow or unstable, this can affect call quality.
2. Restart your router
Restarting your router and broadband equipment can often resolve temporary issues.
Turn your router off, wait around 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
3. Check your phone connection
Make sure your phone is connected to the correct TEL or PHONE port on your router. Also check that all cables are securely connected.
4. Try another handset
If possible, try using another phone handset to rule out a fault with the phone itself.
5. Reduce internet usage during calls
Heavy internet usage such as large downloads or streaming can affect call quality. Try reducing network activity while making calls.
