Why are my speeds not stable right after my Go Live Day?

Last updated: 16 March 2026

It is normal for broadband speeds to fluctuate during the first 24 hours after your Go Live Day while your connection stabilises.

Why speeds may fluctuate at first
When a new broadband service activates, the connection may take a short time to fully stabilise.

During the first few hours after your Go Live Day, the network is completing its setup and establishing the best possible connection for your line.

Because of this, you may notice:

  • Speeds increasing or decreasing
  • Short periods where speeds are slower than expected

This is completely normal during the first 24 hours.

How long does stabilisation take?
Most connections settle within a few hours, but in some cases it may take up to 24 hours for speeds to stabilise fully.

During this time, performance should gradually improve.
